100 Days to Brave

September 22nd marked 100 days left until the end of 2019! Only 100 days left until 2020 is here and everyone starts their New Year’s Resolutions. (We will talk about resolutions in another blog). 😊 But, for now let’s focus on those 100 days. Annie F. Downs wrote a book titled, 100 Days to Brave. It is a daily devotional for unlocking your most courageous self. I started it and plan to read it for the last 100 days of 2019. Want to join in? I’ll attach the link for you. It’s not too late to get started, the devotions are short, and you can easily catch up or just keep reading it into 2020.

The last two years of my life I have stepped out of my comfort zone and into a world I am very unfamiliar with. I left teaching, which is what I know and what I love. I grew up always wanting to be a teacher (I know, cliché but very true). I have loved teaching since I started. Yes, I had difficult classes. Yes, I had difficult parents. Yes, it was very stressful at times, but I truly loved it. I enjoyed going to work every day. It wasn’t a burden to me, and I absolutely loved the kids. I was excited to see them daily and let them explore and learn something new.

It was difficult for us to get pregnant (again, that will be a topic discussed later) but once we finally conceived and had our son, I knew I wanted to stay home with him. It was an extremely difficult decision and one I cried over because let’s face it, I had a lot of hormones running through my body as a new mother and I really loved my job and didn’t want to lose it. However, I made the decision that I wanted to stay home and raise my son as long as we could afford to do so. We made some changes, but I jumped into my new role as a mommy and have loved it. I will most likely go back to teaching once my son is older but for now, I’m going to enjoy every day I get with him.

Now, I have always loved fitness and have always worked out, so I decided I had some time to try and do something else I enjoyed. I completed several certifications; personal training, group fitness instructor, nutrition exercise, CrossFit – L1 and 4th Trimester Fitness Method®. I started doing training and bootcamp classes and really enjoyed them. Now, I am starting new with pregnancy and postpartum classes. It hasn’t been easy; it has been very difficult getting started. Getting your name out there is a hard thing to do. You must step out of your comfort zone and make posts, go to events, ask people to spread the word for you. My goal is to help other women in their fitness journey whatever life stage they are in.

All of this to say, I’m reading this amazing book and hoping it helps me step out a little more and to have the courage to be braver and stronger than I think I am. I want to have the confidence to build this business up and help women in any way I can. God has a plan for me, He has a plan for You, He has a plan for all of us and I am going to trust Him, move forward and change lives. YOU CAN TOO!

“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” – Isaiah 41:13
